These Terms of Service govern your use of TableHero. By using the TableHero app or website, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. Who we are
TableHero (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a tabletop role-playing game campaign management app, operated as an individual sole proprietorship based in California, USA.

2. The service
TableHero is a campaign management tool for 5e-style tabletop role-playing games. It provides tools for managing campaigns, characters, NPCs, encounters, items, and related content. The service runs on Mac, Windows, iOS, iPadOS, and Android, with sync across devices.
We’re constantly adding features. The service may change over time. We may add, remove, or modify features at our discretion.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use TableHero. If you are between 13 and the age of digital consent in your country (16 in some EU jurisdictions), you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
4. Your account
To use most features of TableHero, you need an account. You can create one with an email and password, or sign in with Apple or Google.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password and account credentials secure
- All activity that happens under your account
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access (info@tablehero.games)
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
5. Subscriptions and billing
TableHero is a subscription service. A subscription is required to access most features.
Pricing
$4.99 USD per month or $39.99 USD per year. Pricing may vary by region and is shown to you before you complete the purchase.
Free trial
New subscribers get a free trial period (currently two months). You can cancel during the trial without being charged. If you don’t cancel, you will be charged when the trial ends.
How you can subscribe
- Through the Apple App Store (iPhone, iPad, Mac App Store)
- Through Google Play (Android)
- Directly on tablehero.games (web, Mac, Windows)
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal. You can cancel at any time:
- In your TableHero account settings
- In your App Store or Google Play settings (if you subscribed through those)
- By emailing info@tablehero.games
Refunds
- Apple App Store and Google Play: Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. We can’t process refunds on their behalf. Contact the store directly to request one.
- Direct web subscriptions: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription period. Email info@tablehero.games within 30 days of purchase to request a refund. Refunds for subsequent renewal periods are at our discretion. Cancellation prevents future renewals.
Price changes
We may change pricing for new subscribers at any time. For existing subscribers, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price increase. You can cancel before the new price takes effect if you don’t want to continue at the new rate.
6. Guest accounts
A paid Gamemaster can invite players to their campaign as free guests. Guests have full read and write access to their character sheet and player view within that campaign at no charge to the Gamemaster or the player.
Ownership of guest content. Guest characters and other guest-created content belong to the Gamemaster’s account. A guest cannot move their character to another campaign, another Gamemaster, or transfer it to a separate account unless they upgrade to their own paid TableHero subscription.
Transfer of ownership. If a guest player creates their own paid TableHero account, the Gamemaster can transfer ownership of the character to the player’s account, at which point the character belongs to the player.
Gamemaster cancellation. If a Gamemaster cancels their subscription, guest players in that Gamemaster’s campaigns will lose access to their characters and other guest content unless ownership has been transferred to a paid account before cancellation. We will provide reasonable notice where practical.
Free accounts cannot own characters. To own and persist a character across multiple campaigns or Gamemasters, the player must have a paid subscription.
7. Your content
Anything you create in TableHero (campaign notes, characters, NPCs, encounters, etc.) belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of your creative work.
By using the service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, copy, sync, and display your content as needed to operate the service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except as needed for backups (purged within 90 days) or as required by law.
We do not use your content to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
8. Acceptable use
When using TableHero, you agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal
- Try to break, hack, or interfere with the service
- Try to access other users’ data
- Reverse-engineer the app
- Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm others
- Upload malware, harmful code, or content that violates someone else’s rights
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our written permission
- Misrepresent your identity to gain access (such as creating multiple accounts to claim free trials repeatedly)
- Share your account credentials with people outside your gaming table
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
9. Our intellectual property
The TableHero name, logo, app, and website (excluding your content and the open content described below) are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our intellectual property without our written permission.
Open Game License notice
TableHero uses portions of the System Reference Document 5.1 (“SRD 5.1”) under the Open Game License version 1.0a. The SRD 5.1 is the property of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Reuse of SRD-derived content from TableHero must comply with the Open Game License version 1.0a.
TableHero is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time, in-app or by emailing us. When you do, your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. We will give reasonable notice where practical, except in cases of severe abuse, security risk, or legal compulsion.
If your account is terminated for violation of these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from data loss. While we maintain backups and use industry-standard security, you are responsible for keeping your own backups of important content. The in-app export feature is provided for this purpose.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TABLEHERO AND ITS OPERATOR ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $100 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you live outside the United States, you may have additional rights under your local laws that override the choice of law and venue above. Nothing in these Terms removes those rights.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. They replace any earlier agreements between us on the same subject.
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
No waiver. If we don’t enforce a right or provision under these Terms in a specific instance, that doesn’t mean we’ve waived our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
Notices. We may send you notices by email to the address associated with your account, by in-app message, or by posting on tablehero.games. You can send us notices at info@tablehero.games or to the mailing address above.
